Finsbury Park Road

The roof space of this substantial Victorian house has been transformed into a contemporary master bedroom suite. The roof space originally provided two ‘maids bedrooms’. The roof volume was enlarged by adding a large geometrically complex addition to the rear and a traditional dormer to the front. The owners requested a room that had a different language to the rest of the house, and made the best of the light and views available at the top of the house. The interior wall and ceiling surfaces are clad in maple plywood, carefully reflecting the angles inherent in the existing roof and new addition. Bespoke light fittings and metalwork were commissioned.
