Chatterton Road

This late Victorian terraced house was partly unmodernised and partly unsympathetically altered over many decades, prior to the current owners’ purchase of the house. A brief was established to comprehensively remodel the house with a contemporary internal layout, whilst reinstating the Victorian character externally. The rear wing was entirely rebuilt, with the floor levels in the front and rear parts of the house co-joined at the same level. A large open plan kitchen and lounge now flows into the garden whilst there is also a separate cosy sitting room to the front of the house with a stove. The contemporary roof extension clad in dark grey zinc provides an additional bedroom and bathroom, with striking views across the rooftops from the trapezoidal window.
